Youth Leadership Camp:

The name of the Center is taken from Mehergarh, one of the oldest known civilizations in South Asia located in an area which is now in Baluchistan. It was a seat of learning and had a society which encouraged modern ideas and advanced forms of art at that time.
Collaborative relations have been established with other organizations that are conducting training for youth, promoting traditional cultures and those working on violations of Human Rights. This networking effort will continue to expand and is seen as crucial to achieve our vision.

Annual Human Rights Youth Leadership Camps:

The main focus of the Program will be to identify progressive young people from (mostly) rural and urban areas who can be nurtured to play significant roles in fostering social change in their own communities.

The term, Ana Al Haq, means the truth is within. This term represents the philosophical core of the Institute and its founders: to create an ability to discover oneself and one's own violations of others' rights, and to understand the relationships we all share with the existing power structures of our society. The philosophy demands that we must first recognize how we keep re-enforcing the unjust systems through our own daily actions before we are able to talk about changing the behavior of others. The term comes from the mystical aspects of Pakistani cultural traditions that have lost much of their influence in our modern materialistic and competitive society.

This program focuses on developing leadership qualities in young men and women who are interested to be at the forefront of Pakistan's social movement in future. These youth undergo rigorous training to undo their biases created through their normal socialization process. The hope is that their capacity for leadership will organically emerge as they are guided to identify opportunities where they could organize small civil action efforts for social change.
